Bettina Windau, Bertelsmann Stiftung

Bettina joined the Bertelsmann Stiftung in 1991. With 20 years of experience in philanthropy and non-profit organisations, she has been responsible for education, philanthropy and civil society programmes in Germany, Spain, Egypt and Poland as well as international experts’ networks and associations.

From 2008 until 2011 she chaired the Capacity Building Committee of the European Foundation Centre EFC in Brussels. Previously she worked in executive positions in public libraries. Bettina was educated in Germany and the US. She holds degrees from the University of Applied Science Hamburg and Bern University. As a volunteer she works as Chair of a Community Foundation. She is married and has two children.
